- Building /construction drawings
Applied Engineering offers a scanning solution for that archive of paper. Our scanners set a high standard for quality and flexibility for digital images. Bring us your archive of plans from your plan room. We will organize and scan to TIFF, PDF or JPEG format. Your scanned files can be returned to you on CD, DVD, or your supplied USB. Smaller projects can be emailed or electronically sent to you via our Secure Send FTP process.
Once you have all of your projects scanned you can share and distribute them to your consultants. You can have access to files from anywhere. From the job site you can retrieve your files with ease.
As you make changes or add notes to your plans, such as redline, addendums, or “As Builts” we can scan your updated plans in color, so you can always have the most current plan available.
Scanning will create backup files. If anything should happen to your drawings you will have a safe source for them. Protects against loss from deterioration or natural disasters
Protects valuable archives. Some old drawings are old, brittle, and delicate. We can put them in a protective sleeve, prior to scanning and then you will have a digital file and put away those original plans for safe keeping.
Current types for customers using our scanning services:
Banks: They brought us all of the old building plans. We sorted and organized the plans by year of remodels and scanned to file.
Architectural firms: Once a year they bring us their entire project plans to scan and archive. Even though they may already have their plans in electronic version, they may have made some changes on the plans as the project was built, so we scan their “Redline” or “As Built” plans.
Construction companies: As there plans change we can scan any up dated plans, so they always can have the most up to date plans on file.
Design Firms: They start with hand sketched ideas. We can scan in color or black and white and email the file so they can speed up the process for them.
Manufacturing companies: A local manufacturing company had several cabinets of drawers full of old drawings that were taking up space and took too much time to find just the right drawing. We picked up a few drawers full at a time, and brought them here and scanned and named each drawing by part number. When we were done, they put them on their company server and their team could pull up just the right drawing without having to dig through all the drawers.
