2018 Applied Award Recognitions

Applied Engineering is proud to be an award winning business committed to helping the businesses we work with achieve more, assisting them in meeting their goals and reaching greater success. We have some of the most talented minds in the industry and our employees have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, further expanding their abilities and enhancing their technical skills to take them to the next level. How do we know this? Over the past years, Applied Engineering has been recognized to receive numerous local and state awards for our dedication.

Descriptions of some of these awards are as follows.

Best 50 Places to Work recognition in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Prairie Business magazine started hosting the Best Places to Work contest in 2014, which services North and South Dakota, as well as the western of Minnesota. Companies were selected based on employee satisfaction surveys, submitted voluntarily by employees throughout the region. The rating
categories were in areas such as work environment, employee benefits, and employee happiness. Survey comments were reviewed by Prairie Business staff and consideration was given to the number of surveys submitted for each company. Companies were divided into large (100 or more employees) and small (99 or fewer) categories.

The Bismarck-Mandan Top 10 Young Professional Workplaces recognition in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013-2018.

The Bismarck-Mandan Top 10 Young Professional Workplaces Award was created in 2007 and quickly became a coveted award. Annually, the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network calls for nominations from their membership and Chamber members. The Bismarck-Mandan Top 10 Young Professional Workplaces Award recognizes local businesses committed to recruiting and retaining talented young professionals. Eligible businesses, those employing young professionals under the age of 40, are measured on criteria related to the active development and execution of strategies advancing employment of young professionals in the workplace, and quality and type of benefits offered. A selection committee comprised of Young Professional members, with diverse backgrounds, anonymously review and evaluate nomination applications.

North Dakota Young Professional recognitions in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016.

The Best Place to Work and Intern awards, started by the North Dakota Young Professional (NDYP) in 2008, are a reflection of the creativity and innovation that businesses offer young professionals. In order to be considered for the award, applicants must submit a detailed questionnaire about company benefits, advancement opportunities, and why their business is an outstanding place for young professionals to work. A statewide committee of NDYP judges reviews nominees, and determines winners and runners-up (if applicable). Winners are selected based on a pre-set criterion examining how the business benefits individuals, how the organization supports local YP networks and YP development, and how the company gives back to the community. Extra attention is paid to unique best practices that are used to develop the work environment and create opportunities for individuals.
